The annual holiday concert was held December 15, 2019, at 2:30 and 7:15 p.m. and featured the Quincy High School Concert Chorale, the Concert Choir and the Madrigal Choir.

The Concert Orchestra, conducted by Christopher Gass, was also featured during the performance.

Vespers began start with the annual candlelight processional with more than 150 choir members performing “Come Singing Noel,” followed by traditional carols. The choirs are directed by Paul Shelor and Kathi Dooley.

Choral highlights include the Concert Choral performing “Welcome Now, the Holiday” by Greg Gilpin and “Bring a Little Jingle” by Stephen Lawrence. The Concert Choir will sing selections including “Riu, Riu, Chiu” arranged by Russell Robinson and “Variations on Jingle Bells” arranged by Mark Hayes.

Vespers also includes the Brass Choir, directed by Matthew Gabriel, which will lead the audience in carols.

The Concert Orchestra will perform selections “A Festive Fanfare,” “Christmas Through a Looking Glass” and “We Three Kings,” featuring senior soloist Ava Miller.

The Vespers program concludes with the traditional singing of Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” by the Concert Choir, alumni and the QHS Orchestra and Clyde Bassett’s arrangement of “Silent Night.”
